With some EQ, dynamics, and imaging adjustments, mastering can fine-tune the blending of sounds within the entire song, but it won’t make any major volume level or sonic flavor adjustments to individual components. You don’t want to focus so much on trying to boost the overall song volume level when you are mixing as that is an aspect that would apply to the master output of the mix and, hence, should be left to the mastering engineer to handle for you. The only overall volume level issue you need to worry about during mixing is to make sure your levels are not clipping as it will cause digital distortion that cannot be repaired in mastering.
What’s the one thing (or three or four!) that you do that nobody else does? Describe your band, give a brief history about your work, and highlight your accomplishments. If you don’t have any successes yet, then your goal should be to get your foot in the door of a small local venue, or play in your friends’ living rooms and backyards and set up cameras to capture the show, or do whatever you can to get out there on the circuit. Then build momentum from there.

Most platforms have large engineering teams dedicated to all of this. We have a pretty good idea of how much money it’s costing these platforms every year, and we’re confident we can reduce that cost by at least 80%. At a time where profitability is key, I’d say we have a pretty appealing offer.

There you have it, you can create huge shoegazing walls of guitar sound without having to strain your back carrying a huge pedal case. Start by using a compressor with a fast attack and fast release to quickly clamp down on transients that get too loud. One common trick is to use an 1176 to apply ~3-6 dB of gain reduction at a ratio of 4:1. This is a great way to tame a dynamic vocal performance.
